Bishop Timon-St. Jude High School claimed its fifth straight Monsignor Martin title in a 14-7 victory over St. Joseph Collegiate.

St. Joe’s struck first, but only led for 19 seconds before Timon responded with a goal from Layne Collins.  The Tigers continued to improve on their lead, eventually building up a 6-3 lead going into the half.

After adding a quartet of goals in both the third and fourth quarters, Timon reached 14 goals total, double the amount St. Joseph managed.

In an all around team effort, only three Tigers scored.  Collins led the way with an incredible seven goal performance.  Connor Fields, who set the New York state record for goals scored in a single season last season at 129, added on four more goals, reaching 108 for the year.  Following up with a hat trick, Adam Dimillo rounded out the goal scoring at with his own trio of goals.

Ending its highly successful campaign on a high note, Bishop Timon ends the season with a 14-5 record.  At 36th in the DigitalSports National Lacrosse Rankings, the Tigers have proven themselves to be strong competitors throughout the country.  On top of that, Timon ranks 9th in New York, a state with many talented programs.

Heading into the offseason, Bishop Timon ends its season proudly, on top of its league.  Many Tigers will move on to collegiate lacrosse next spring.  Many Tigers are prepared to fill the roles of the skilled senior graduating class.
